About BZZ Atelier

Connecting continents with ethnic and oriental inspirations.

“Atelier BZZ has a different proposal in the Botanical Garden of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and now in Paris, France. Connecting continents and bringing inspiration from a” “souk” “, with fashion, art and decoration prioritizing equitable commerce and with projects of empowerment of women, both in the country and abroad. For this, we have developed partnerships and trained some groups through handicrafts.

Atelier BZZ’s proposal is to invest in style with purpose and value, uniting art, design and fashion, giving opportunity and helping to improve the lives of those at risk. Another proposal of the brand is the malleability of remaking that are present in part of the pieces created. A scarf can turn into a turban or tunics. A necklace can be bracelets. This dynamism makes possible a new consumption system. Thus, the person will have different experiences of use, particular moments that are not repeated.

Today the Atelier has points of sale in Brazil and France. “

Rosane Lopes

Designer

Design with style and purpose

After working at a UN agency for 15 years, jewelry designer Rosane Lopes answered an internal call – to empower women, increasing their sources of income around the world. That was how, starting as a special consultant for situations of risk and emergency in Haiti, Iraq and Angola, among other countries, came the idea of setting up the project “The Art of Transformatiom – Remaking Lives” and the D4D Institute (Discipline 4Dignity), signed with partners from Atlanta (USA).

The experience in these places led her to create a channel to contribute directly to the women empowerment “We seek fair trade combined with products from a sustainable chain. For this, we have artisans who work with us on this project in Iraq and Brazil ”explains Rosane, who for her work in refugee camp in Iraq and with refugees residing in Rio de Janeiro was appointed by a consultant for informal advice on the costume of the soap opera“ Earth Orphans ”, from TV Globo.

“I had already produced accessories for characters from other plots, but this time it has a special taste I had 14 months of intense experience in Iraq in contact with an NGO that rescued Yazidi women from the Islamic State. With these women, we carried out a pilot project for a workshop that enabled them to develop jewelry – including those used in the soap opera ”, reveals Rosane, who returns to the Middle East in June. “I fell in love with their culture, especially with these women. We started looking at the world from other angles ”

The work developed in the Baixada Fluminense comes from a long time ago. “We started in 2014, after the Xerém flood, with a project for residents around Nova Iguaçu and Duque de Caxias who were at risk. At the time, we did a job with recycling coffee capsules for making bijoux, biojewels and accessories, organizing sales channels for these items to generate a creative economy – and providing complementary income for these women and their families ”, he recalls. Even today, some of them continue to produce.

With that look, she saw that design, recycling, risky areas and crafts can establish a good conversation. Each one assumes and collaborates with their knowledge and experiences.
